What types of programs does the Medica Foundation fund?Our funding is targeted to support specific health-related areas. Funding priorities are established on an annual basis. They are subject to change from year to year.
When will the funding priorities for the next year be posted?We post our annual funding priorities on March 1 of each year.
Does the Medica Foundation accept proposals all year long?No, Letters of Inquiry are accepted during the specified time frames.

How do I apply for funding?We use an electronic proposal process. During the posted application time frames, applicants are able to complete the Letter of Inquiry and submit. All information, including access to the forms, will be available online each year beginning March 1.
Can my organization apply for more than one grant this year?
Yes, however, organizations are not eligible to receive more than one grant in a calendar year.
Does the Medica Foundation fund multi-year grants?No. We do not fund multi-year projects. Grant periods are limited to 12 months.
Does the Medica Foundation provide funding for general operating support?No, we do not fund general operating support.
Does the Medica Foundation provide funding for capital expenditures/capital equipment?No, we do not fund capital expenditures/capital equipment.
My project involves buying equipment, is this allowed?We allow minor equipment to be purchased with grant dollars that directly support the project/program. An example of this would be a computer and printer to support a new staff person.
Are there any restrictions on administrative expense for my project?Our giving guidelines allow up to 10% of the grant to be allocated for administrative expense. Administrative expense may not exceed 10%. If a proposal is submitted with excessive administrative expense, it will be eliminated from the review process.
Are salaries included in administrative expense?Salaries are not generally included in administrative expense. Salaries for program staff to support the grant activity may be included in the grant request for consideration. They are reported separately from the administrative expense in the Salaries section.
When can I expect to receive a response from the Medica Foundation?You will receive a confirmation email when a Letter of Inquiry and/or Full Proposal is submitted. You will also be notified when a final determination is made. The full review process can take four to six months to complete.
