Medica Foundation Provides
$30,000 Grant for Program in Becker County

MINNEAPOLIS, January 29, 2007 — The Medica Foundation in its second cycle of funding for 2006 made a $30,000 grant to the Minnesota Consortium for Advance Rural Psychology Training program. The program supports training, development and retention of mental health resident psychologists practicing in rural Minnesota communities. Becker has been identified as a community of focus for 2007.

“The Medica Foundation recognizes the need for behavioral health services throughout Minnesota,” said Rob Longendyke, executive director. “We are pleased to be able to provide this much needed funding and look forward to working with our partners on making improvements to access and continuity of these essential services in Becker County.”

In 2006, the Medica Foundation provided $1.5 million in funding for projects throughout the state, including several that address access to behavioral health services and health care issues in rural Minnesota.
