Access to Primary Care: You may see any primary care provider affiliated with the primary care clinics in this care system.
Access to Specialty Care: You may directly access the specialty care providers affiliated with this care system. For access to other specialty care providers, contact your primary care clinic for consultation. Your primary care clinic will direct you to a specialist associated with this care system.

Care System Description
CareNorth is a partnership formed in 1997 between St. Luke’s Hospital and over 50 primary care and specialty care clinics. The partnership adds strength and stability to each independent health care provider so they can continue to serve you in the best way possible.

CareNorth came together not because "bigger is better", but to allow each member to maintain it’s small, personal offices while working as a group to make each practice better.

Patients, employers and health plans choose CareNorth because of the way we deliver health care to our region:

• Quality – CareNorth has an extensive quality improvement program which researches the best, most current treatments and preventive care for patients.
• Access – An extensive provider network consisting of 24 primary care clinics and more than 30 specialty clinics located throughout Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin.
• Cost – CareNorth believes good quality, comprehensive care can be provided without unnecessary costs to the patient or health plan.

CareNorth provides care to patients located primarily in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. In Minnesota, our clinics are located as far south as Hinckley and north to Silver Bay and Virginia. In Wisconsin, we have offices in Ashland, Hayward, Minong and Superior.

Special Features:
CareNorth has an extensive quality improvement program. Our many quality initiatives come from active research and are driven by our physicians, clinics and the staff of our clinics and hospitals. Care improvement, and in fact, the overall direction of our organization comes from the active involvement of our physicians.
