Minnetonka, Minn., Nov. 30, 2006 - Medica today announced the hire of Tammie Lindquist as vice president, business intelligence and Dr. Jim Guyn as medical director, provider relations.
Lindquist is responsible for the development of advanced reporting capabilities for providers, brokers, employers and members. She also directs Medica’s business intelligence efforts to ensure Medica leadership is provided with the information needed to make the best possible business decisions and achieve strategic goals. The position is a new one at Medica. Prior to joining Medica, Lindquist was at HealthPartners, where she was instrumental in developing information and initiatives to improve product design, medical management and care delivery, provider payment, employer reporting and consumer health information. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree Magna cum Laude in Biomedical Science from St. Cloud State University.
Dr. Guyn’s main responsibilities will be to serve as the organization’s chief liaison to provider groups and facilities in the Medica network and oversee specialty-specific quality initiatives. He also will be a clinical advisor to other departments within Medica. Dr. Guyn is a board-certified family practice physician, most recently with North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis. He is a graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine. His previous experience also includes serving as Chief of Staff, Mayer Memorial Hospital, California; Chair, North Memorial Clinic Services Executive Council; Preceptor, University of Minnesota Family Practice Residency Program, where he was also honored as Teacher of the Year; and Physician Representative, Medica Quality Improvement Subcommittee. He has filled several community service roles as an associate director and Supervisory Committee member of the Teacher’s Federal Credit Union; a director of the Fall River Joint Unified School District Board, California; secretary to the Hopkins Education Foundation, Minnesota; and reservist in the Hennepin County Medical Corps.
