Medica Foundation Provides $11,535 Grant
for Eat Well and Keep Moving Program in Roseau
MINNEAPOLIS, January 29, 2007 — The Medica Foundation in its second cycle of funding for 2006 made a grant of $11,535 to Roseau Area Hospital and Homes, Inc., for its project, Eat Well and Keep Moving. The program is an interdisciplinary nutrition and physical activity curriculum aimed at building lifelong healthy habits for all sixth grade students in the region.
“The Medica Foundation recognizes the need for health education services and activities throughout Minnesota,” said Rob Longendyke, executive director. “We are pleased to be able to provide this much needed funding and look forward to working with our partners on making improvements to health education in the Roseau area.”
In 2006, the Medica Foundation provided $1.5 million in funding for projects throughout the state, including several that address access to behavioral health services and health care issues in rural Minnesota.
