Prioritization/Review CriteriaFunding will be directed toward initiatives that:
- Are true innovations in how health care is delivered
- Have a high likelihood of creating sustainable, systemic change
- Address the social issues that drive health care costs and reduce health care disparities
- Build partnerships and collaborations between Medica and other community organizations
Who We FundNon-profit organizations that are 501(c)(3) legal entities or governmental agencies are eligible to receive funding.
What We FundThe Medica Foundation considers only single year grant requests. Organizations are not eligible to receive more than one grant within a calendar year.
Where We FundFunding is provided to organizations within Medica’s service area in Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Western Wisconsin counties include the following: Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Chippewa, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pierce, Polk, Sawyer, St. Croix and Washburn.
What We Do Not Fund
- Capital campaigns/capital expenditures
- General and/or ongoing operational support
- Long-term financial support
- Religious groups for religious purposes
- Lobbying/political purposes
- Projects in which administrative expenses exceed 10% of the total grant
- Sports events and athletic groups
