The Travel Program is especially valuable if you are traveling or if you have children attending school in the U.S. outside the Medica coverage area of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Western Wisconsin. It provides in-network coverage for many types of medical care — including for chronic conditions, urgent care and emergency care needs. This is one of the nation's largest networks. It includes nearly 580,000 physicians and care providers and nearly 5,000 hospitals.

How the Travel Program Works
The Travel Program works just like obtaining care in Medica's service area. Members visit a participating provider and present their member identification card at the point of service. Standard copayments or coinsurance will apply. There is no additional paperwork. To find a provider within the Travel Program network, choose one of the selections below to begin your search.
Look for the stars.
Using the search tool below, you can look for a doctor with one or two stars. One star means a doctor has met national quality standards. Two stars means a doctor has also met cost-efficiency standards.
** You must confirm with the provider's office that they are in your plan's network before your first and each subsequent appointment.
