When You Need Care

Choose from any doctor, clinic or facility in the Medica Choice with UnitedHealthcare Options PPO network. While you don't need a referral to see a specialist in the network, it's a good idea to work closely with your primary care doctor to coordinate your health care needs.

In Minnesota, we are required to ensure you have access to primary care providers within 30 miles or minutes of your home, and access to specialists within 60 miles or minutes. Given availability of providers in certain areas, this is not always possible. When that's the case, we apply for a Network Adequacy Waiver from the Minnesota Department of Health.
