When you travel outside the Medica service area (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Western Wisconsin) you can get in-network coverage by visiting a provider in our Travel Program network. If you have children attending college outside the service area, they can use the Travel Program, too. Get treatment for chronic conditions, urgent and emergency care and other types of care from a provider in this nationwide network.* Look for these providers by scrolling down and choosing "Travel Program Provider" (under Top Searches, on the right-hand side).
Receiving care from a Travel Program provider is just like receiving care within the Medica service area. When you visit a participating provider, simply show your member ID card. If you have a deductible, copayment or coinsurance, it will apply. Travel Program providers will file claims for you, so you won't have any additional paperwork.
*Chiropractic services are not included in the Travel Program. If you receive these services outside the Medica service area, your out-of-network benefits would apply.
