Over-the-Counter Items

Over-the-Counter Allowance

 

You get an allowance of up to $300 every three months (up to $1,200 per year) for over-the-counter items that are not covered by Medical Assistance. Order by phone or online. Get your over-the-counter items shipped direct to your home. The benefit resets each quarter, there is no carry over from quarter to quarter.

Your health plan offers a no-cost , complete fitness solution for you body and mind.


With One pass you get:

  • Access to a huge nationwide network of gyms
  • Access to thousands of on-demand fitness videos and livestreaming fitness content
  • Access to Brain HQ for personalized brain training
  • Access to live and virtual social events and clubs to support your social wellbeing
  • No-cost daily rides to One Pass gyms near you.

Steps to get started:

  1. Create a One Pass account online or by phone using your name, birthdate, and Medica member ID Number (found on your Medica member ID card).
  2. Save the One Pass member code assigned to your account. You'll use your code to unlock all One Pass features, including unlimited use of any One Pass fitness facility. Just show your code on your first visit to each location.
  3. Explore the One Pass program online or by calling One Pass Support.

Grocery Savings

Healthy Savings

All DUAL Solution members get no-cost access to the Healthy Savings program. It helps you and your family eat nutritiously and save money on your grocery bill. Shop for promoted items and scan your Healthy Savings card or barcode from the app at checkout at stores in the Healthy Savings network.

How to Start Saving


Healthy Foods*

Our Healthy Foods program provides a monthly allowance of up to $150 to be used on healthy foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, bread, nutritional drinks, coffee, breakfast foods, pasta, and more. Activate your Healthy Savings card, and scan it or your barcode from the Healthy Savings app at checkout at participating Healthy Foods grocers. Conveniently shop for non-perishable items online. The benefit resets each month, there is no carry-over month to month.

You can also get one no-cost ride per day to a grocery store in the Healthy Foods network.

Activity Tracker

All Dual Solution members qualify for a smartwatch to help track your steps and heart rate. You can view and download your health data. You can give family or a caregiver access to your data too.

Telemonitoring*

In addition to activity tracking you may be able to receive a blood pressure cuff and weight scale. They wirelessly connect with your ReemoTM smartwatch to securely track your health data. Reemo will teach you how to setup and use these devices. They will also setup preferred times to check blood pressure and weight. You can give family or a caregiver access to your information too.

Reemo will directly call members who qualify for telemonitoring .


Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)

In addition to activity tracking you may qualify for the Personal Emergency Response feature that can get you access to help in an emergency quickly, 24/7.

Case Management

If you have a serious or chronic health condition, our Case Managers will work with you to help you understand your condition, manage your medications, develop and support your personal care plan, and follow up on your progress.

Chronic Care Management

Get support with weight management, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure and more. A registered nurse will review your chronic condition(s), help you create personalized health goals, and give you ongoing support in reaching your goals.

Health Education

You'll receive face-to-face and or telephonic visits over six months with a highly trained community health worker. The personalized visits focus on your condition-specific health education, self-management, skill development and more based on chronic and mental health conditions.

Papa Pals Program*

Papa Pals is a network of young adults who connect with you for companionship and assistance with your daily activities. Papa Pals can:

  • Chat, play board games, watch a movie, take a walk, and join you in exercise
  • Help you household needs like light cleaning, meal prep, organizing, and pet help
  • Provide transportation for grocery shopping, errands, and social activities

If you have a chronic condition and think Papa Pals could help you, please talk to your Care Coordinator to see if you are eligible.

Medica DUAL Solution is a health plan that contracts with both Medicare and the Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program to provide benefits of both programs to enrollees. Enrollment in Medica DUAL Solution depends on contract renewal.

American Indians can continue to use tribal and Indian Health Services (IHS) clinics. We will not require prior approval or impose any conditions for you to get services at these clinics. For elders age 65 years and older this includes Elderly Waiver (EW) services accessed through the tribe. If a doctor or other provider in a tribal or IHS clinic refers you to a provider in our network, we will not require you to see your primary care provider prior to the referral.
