Your plan includes dental coverage managed by Delta Dental® of Minnesota. This summary of non-pregnant adult dental benefits helps you understand and access your dental benefits, and also includes:

    Medica AccessAbility Solution Enhanced members: You have one crown covered per year.

    Medica DUAL Solution members: You have two crowns covered per year.

    • Comprehensive exam
    • Periodic exam
    • Limited (problem-focused) exams
    • Imaging services:
      • Bitewing X-ray
      • Single X-rays for diagnosis of problems
      • Panoramic X-ray
      • Full mouth X-ray
    • Root canals
    • Removal of plaque and tartar
    • Scaling and root planing
      • Follow-up periodontal maintenance
    • Dentures and partials
    • Relines, repairs, adjustments, modifications, and rebases of removable prostheses
    • Replacement of prosthesis that are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair
    • Replacement of partial prostheses if the existing partial cannot be altered to meet dental needs
    • Tissue conditioning liners (once per appliance)
    • Precision attachments and repairs
    • Extractions (removal of impacted teeth or tooth roots)
    • Biopsies
    • Incision and drainage of abscesses
    • Emergency treatment for pain
    • General anesthesia
    • Behavioral management when necessary to ensure that a covered dental service is correctly and safely performed
    • Oral or IV sedation

Find Care

Delta Dental has a large network of providers. As a Medica member, you have access to the Minnesota Select Dental network.

Member Tips

  • Visit your dentist at least once a year for an exam and cleaning.
  • If you have dentures, your dentist will make sure your mouth is healthy and your dentures fit well.
  • Tell your dentist about any medicine you take or health conditions you have.

Provide-A-Dentist Program

Get help making and keeping an appointment with a dentist. If you can't find a dentist who has openings, call Delta Dental and let them know you need help getting an appointment. They will connect you to a Provide-A-Dentist Access Care Coordinator.

The Provide-A-Dentist Access Care Coordinator can help:

  • Find a dentist in Delta Dental's Minnesota Select Dental network
  • Schedule your dental appointment
  • Get a ride to your appointment
  • Arrange an interpreter for your appointment
  • Schedule follow-up dental care

Medica DUAL Solution and Medica AccessAbility Solution Enhanced are HMO D-SNPs that contract with both Medicare and the Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program to provide benefits of both programs to enrollees. Enrollment in Medica DUAL Solution and Medica AccessAbility Solution Enhanced depends on contract renewal.

American Indians can continue to use tribal and Indian Health Services (IHS) clinics. We will not require prior approval or impose any conditions for you to get services at these clinics. For elders age 65 years and older this includes Elderly Waiver (EW) services accessed through the tribe. If a doctor or other provider in a tribal or IHS clinic refers you to a provider in our network, we will not require you to see your primary care provider prior to the referral.
