$0 Medical Premiums

Your Part B Medicare premium is $0 if you qualify for Medicare and Medicaid. This means you pay $0 for your Medica plan premium, $0 deductibles, $0 copays, and $0 coinsurance for medical care.

Part D Premiums

If you qualify for Medica DUAL Solution, you automatically qualify for help paying for your prescription drug (Part D) premiums through the Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) program Extra Help**. Depending on your situation. Extra Help might pay for some or all of your prescription deductibles and copays. 

Talk to your county worker to determine what level of Extra Help you qualify for. See the chart below for details on the cost-sharing for each level of Extra Help.

*The benefits mentioned are a part of special supplemental program for the chronically ill. Not all members qualify.

**As a member of our plan, you will get the same coverage as someone who is not getting Extra Help. Your membership in our plan will not be affected by Extra Help. This also means that you must follow all the rules and procedures in the Member Handbook.

Medica DUAL Solution is an HMO D-SNP that contracts with both Medicare and the Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program to provide benefits of both programs to enrollees. Enrollment in Medica DUAL Solution depends on contract renewal.

American Indians can continue to use tribal and Indian Health Services (IHS) clinics. We will not require prior approval or impose any conditions for you to get services at these clinics. For enrollees age 65 years and older this includes Elderly Waiver (EW) services accessed through the tribe. If a doctor or other provider in a tribal or IHS clinic refers you to a provider in our network, we will not require you to see your primary care provider prior to the referral.
