Short Term Insurance

Secure STM

Secure STM plans are available to individual and families living throughout Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Plan Highlights

Life changes — often unexpectedly. When life leaves you temporarily uninsured, short-term health coverage can help protect you in the meantime. Secure STM short-term coverage is designed for individuals or families in transition who need 30 to 364* days of coverage to protect against unexpected major medical expenses. Secure STM is great if you:

  • Missed signing up during open enrollment and are not eligible for special enrollment
  • Are between jobs or waiting for coverage to start through your job
  • Recently graduated and are looking for a job

Whatever your situation, Secure STM is available to help fill the gap in your health coverage.

  • Short-term coverage helps protect against unexpected illnesses or injuries. It does not cover pre-existing conditions (including for those younger than 19) or all the essential health benefits.
  • Coverage is subject to underwriting. Each applicant must be able to qualify based on set underwriting guidelines. This product is underwritten by Standard Security Life Insurance Company of New York, a member of the IHC Group.

This product doesn't comply with the minimum health plan requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; however, it's not required that this product meet these requirements.
