Guacamole
Yields
6 servings | Prep time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 large or 3 medium ripe avocados
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- ½ small onion, chopped
- ⅓ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 finely diced jalapeño pepper (optional); add more or less to adjust the spiciness
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. ground cumin
- ¼ tsp. black pepper
Directions
Mash the avocado with the lime juice using a potato masher or fork to make it as smooth or chunky as you want. Stir in the other ingredients and taste for salt before serving. If you need to store the guacamole, cover it with a sheet of thin plastic wrap, making sure the wrap touches the top of the guacamole to prevent browning.
